Fun with Shaving Cream! | Stamping with Jeannie

I was putting together a  class the other morning, and was having trouble coming up with a fourth card.  I asked my daughter, Lyndsey, for some ideas.  She had the usual ones: do birthday, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day … wait, I can’t do St. Patrick’s Day — I don’t have an appropriate stamp set!  What’s one to do?!

Luckily (no pun intended with these lucky shamrocks!) I was also doing a technique for this class — voila`!  I had my idea!!

I ended up doing a shaving cream technique and colored my “cream” with 3 shades of green:  Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, and Garden Green reinkers helped me with this!

Check out my card:

What do you think?!  Like I said, I didn’t have a St. Patrick’s Day sentiment or stamp set large enough, so I used the Yippee-Skippee sentiment from the same-named stamp set.  Can you believe that it’s the first time I think I used this stamp?!  The hearts to form the clover used the Sweetheart punch, and I used the large oval punch to form the stem — punch about halfway up on a piece of scrap paper, then re-punch above the first oval — if you look at the stem, I think the directions I just gave will make sense.  The little flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch looked just like a shamrock to me so I added that to the banner — I think the banner measurements are 1″ x 3 1/2″ I believe.   Oh yes, I did stamp “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” inside though (Teeny Tiny Wishes).

Check out a close-up photo of the card:

I do think that I’m going to make one more change on the card for tonight’s class — do you think I should emboss the hearts?!  Me too!!  Let me know what embossing folder YOU would use!! I’m anxious to know!!
