I’ve shared a few cards that I’ve made using the Joseph’s Coat stamping technique this week – now let’s see how this technique looks on Royal Peacock.

Before I start, I wonder if anyone else is having trouble keeping the “peacocks” straight”?!  I have such a hard time remembering that the designer paper and the suite is called NOBLE peacock, the color is PRETTY peacock (thank goodness I can remember that for the color, the beginning initials are the same!), and the stamp set is ROYAL peacock.  Yikes!!

I’ve made 2 cards with Royal Peacock, both slightly different.  I’ll put the supply list underneath, and in the description, I’m listing the “under colors” and the “top coat” I’ve sponged onto my Whisper White cardstock.  I embossed the peacock with VersaMark ink and used clear embossing powder over  the VersaMark.  I’m not sure if the colors/cards would turn out differently if I embossed using the white powder?

The card shown above uses the jewel-tone colors of Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape.  I sponged Pretty Peacock on as my topcoat, which turned out to be a perfect match for my card base.  The mat c/s I used is again Gorgeous Grape.  I added a few Noble Peacock rhinestones to the card too.
Because I’m such a “blueberry bushel” type of girl (I love to wear that color!), I decided this next card should use Blueberry Bushel as my top coat.  My under-colors that I sponged on the Whisper White c/s were Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose and Highland Heather.
Although I’m showing this 2nd card last, it was actually my first attempt using Royal Peacock.  I did a better job embossing my peacock shown in the first card.  Lesson learned – make sure to fully heat-set the stamped image before sponging on the color.  My peacock’s tail in the 2nd card could certainly be a lot more dramatic.
