I’ve been very tied up these past few weeks, preparing for the new school year with 2(!) teenagers in high school now!  On top of that, I just finished painting my daughter’s room for her birthday present!  Now, this week, my family came from NY and Virginia to visit and celebrate Lyndsey’s 17th BD, and we tore up all of our wall-to-wall carpet upstairs!  The good news is that there was hardwood underneath, in very good condition!  These reasons all add up to not a lot of time to post on my blog!  I’m back though!

The title for today’s post gives away the theme of my cards: cats!  I have two cards to share with you.  They’re both so fun in their own way!!

I  made the Hello Kitty card out of punches for Lyndsey — she ADORES Hello Kitty!  Isn’t it so cute?!  It’s primarily made out of the oval punches, both the wide oval and the retired small oval punch.  The bow is from the 1/2 inch and bitty round punches, and the ears are the retired butterfly punch.  The cute whiskers are from another retired punch– the slot punch.  You could easily cut little scraps for whiskers too though!

This cute card above is the new Frightening Feline individual stamp from the holiday mini catalog.  Don’t you love the evil gleam in her eyes?!  It’s the Rhinestone Jewels, colored with an orange sharpie marker!  The paper, although it doesn’t show up true to color in the above photo, is the gumball green cardstock — it’s my all time favorite green!  Love it!!

I matted my image on the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.  I really love the patterns to all the papers in this halloween package — this chevron design is very chic right now!  Oh, and the ribbon is the new Basic Gray Striped Satin from the mini catalog.  I embossed my feline with gumball green embossing powder so she’d show up nicely against the Basic Black cardstock.

The Tangerine Tango c/s really brings out the eyes, don’t you think?! You can see the evil eyes even better in the picture below:

In case you’re wondering, this picture below has the backdrop of my beautiful new hardwood floors behind it!  We pulled the carpet up to find the floors in brand new condition (except for the edges!  Still pulling staples and puttying in spots!)  Can you believe that this gem was hidden below our carpet for 12 years?!

I hope to share more fun cards in the next few days!  Although you haven’t seen much of my work lately, I’ve still been stamping and holding nearly weekly card classes all summer!  Anyway, that’s all for today!  Stop by again and please leave a comment for me!
