Valentine Card/Project Class

Good morning!

My ideas were bigger than my class time last night but I think my special ladies all had a grand time! Check out the photos for the projects we did (and 2 of them were missing!)

A ton of my inspiration came from Becky Roberts and her Inking Idaho blog if you want some fantastic samples! I think that’s where the front right lollipop scallop envelope cover came from, as well as the Box # 2 in the back right corner! I saw the small Chocolate Kiss box (the chocolate covered-strawberry image project on the right) on my friend Roxy’s blog — she linked to the tutorial there as well!

Connie Babbert had the clothespin dragonfly candy sample (bottom left) on her blog — I swapped out the clear cello bags for a ready-made M&M’s package to simplify things! I also made my own DSP cover for the clothespin in the sample, but last night, chose to cut strips of last year’s retired Valentine’s Day paper. I hoarded it last year and I know why! I think it’s been one of my all-time favorite papers! (*want to know 2 others?! I loved Parisian Breeze … and this year’s Sale-a-bration {SAB} paper is another favorite!!!! You can still get that with a $50 order, even if you can’t get the retired Valentine’s DSP or the Parisian Breeze!!!) You can see that most of my samples use the Everyday Enchantment SAB paper!

The sweet Waterfall card came from inspiration on Stampin’ Connection (Patricia Barber — not sure if she has a blog that I can link!). Stampin’ Connection is my “demonstrator wealth of knowledge” site! Not only do I see samples using all of our SU products, but I also have wonderful demonstrators that share advice and/or tips from things that have worked in the past for them!! If you’ve ever thought about joining Stampin’ Up!, talk to me — it was the best decision I ever made when I jumped from the “customer” side of the fence to the “demonstrator side”!!

Okay … so here’s a closeup photo, and the next photo is a better “far-away” photo. I just love how it turned out! I used the new hearts Adorning Accents embossing folder for it. I did a search on “waterfall cards” and the instructions were extremely easy! Email me or comment if there’s something you don’t understand!

The 2nd full-size card that we did was also case’d from a fellow demonstrator. Sorry — I searched and I searched and I can’t find where I got the inspiration! Obviously I loved the card though! I DO think it was a blogger that I follow regularly, but you’d shake your head if you knew how many blogs I subscribe too (hence the problem finding the artist!! LOL!). The top Pink Pirouette cardstock piece was embossed with the houndstooth embossing folder (as was theirs!) — the main image and the “banner” used stamps from the Take It to Heart stamp set. Then, my heart framelets finally got some use! Love them!

See the Petite Pocket with the two tags/bookmarks? Inspiration again from Becky Roberts! I used the P.S. I Love you stamp set and versamark ink for the subtle images, and used my small heart punch and the incolors of Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, and Calypso Coral. Stampin’ Up! is going to have a hard time coming up with better colors than these when they introduce the 2012-13 InColor line in May/June!! Below is a better photo of the bookmarks. (I used the Two Tags die to make them in case that wasn’t clear!)

Well, that’s all for today! Can you guess the ladies’ comments when they came in for the class last night?! Most expected to stay till Midnight! Happily, the last guest left at 10 … with a little bit of cooperation between all of them to make the projects and the time fly by! I love my ladies!!
