My husband loves to fly. He had his pilot’s license before he had his driver’s license when he was growing up. I always tease him that his head is in the clouds. I’m serious! If there’s a plane flying overhead … big plane, little plane, long plane, short plane … he always stops to check it out. Way back when, when he was trying to decide what to do with his life, the military was very strict about perfect eyesight. He never had that perfect eyesight except corrected, which wasn’t good enough back then to guarantee a pilot’s spot in the Air Force. (Talk to me about great eyesight though — he calls me his” right wing man” — I have the perfect eyesight that he was lacking, still to this day!!). So, here’s a card for my husband/pilot enthusiast! (The call numbers on the plane are from a favorite one that he used to fly, so he’ll recognize that for sure!)

I used the Cupcake Builder punch for my clouds. The sentiment is from the Up, Up and Away stamp set. The paper is going to look familiar since I used it for two cards — it’s from the Sweet Shoppe DSP specialty pack.

My last card is a fun card for my son.

I wanted to do something special for him. A spinner card seemed to fit the bill! I used the Skateboarder image — in actuality, this silhouette should have been a basketball player — that’s his real love! But, he still enjoys going outside with his buddies and roller-blading (occasionally skateboarding, although that’s always a fleeting fad around here) so this card will hopefully work!

I used the Up, Up and Away stamp set for the birds and clouds. The DSP I used is from the Sweet Shoppe specialty pack. It has yummy treats on the back, but the “masculine” hearts” on the front appealed to me for Chris’s card. Of course, I couldn’t resist a little “bling” with the red glimmer paper! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paper! Oh yes, and the uber-cool sentiment up top comes from the P.S. I Love You stamp set (as does the one behind the skateboarder). That’s the first time this particular stamp has seen ink this year! I hope they continue the set in next year’s catalog! I loved it this season!!

Anyway, off to get the kids from dance and basketball again. No time for dinner tonight! Oh yes, please continue to pray for my mother-in-law. She’s still having an awful time in transplant! We’re hoping to see counts by the end of this week though!!
