Well, I realized it’s been way too long and that has certainly not been a treat for you! I make cards constantly, and the best way to let you know is to show you the cards!
Last week was my Halloween cards and treats class. Check out one of my cards that I shared on the FB Live.
I just love this card! This card was a re-make of Gail Ellis’s Pretty Poinsettia cards (I’ll share my favorite card that I tweaked for class in an upcoming post!). The easel card was re-made using a combination of the Web of Fun stamp set/dies and the Oh My Fright bundle.

My favorite part of this are the die cut ghosts but also the ghosts in the trees (the Dot, Bats & Ghosts embellishment). Check out the inside view below:

The card base is Pumpkin Pie, scored at 5-1/2″ and 2-3/4″ (both mountain folds). There are then 3 pieces of Basic Black that are mats for the uber-cute Frightfully Fun 12″ x 12′ DSP (see measurements for all below). I added the same pattern DSP to the top, inside and the arch focal point. The Basic Black arch is the largest Everyday Arches die, and the DSP layer is the 2nd largest. Then, it was time to decorate: a Basic Black Oh My Fright tree and bat, two Basic White die cut Oh My Fright Ghosts (aren’t they adorable?!), and a punched out Very Vanilla 1-7/8″ moon. The Boo on the front is one of the Web of Fun dies. This stamp set and dies bundle is perfect for scrapbooking if that’s your passion!
Inside, I stamped the mischievous cat in Tuxedo Black Memento ink (no, I haven’t made the jump to the new Hybrid ink yet). The 2-1/8″ Stylish Shapes circle is the perfect label for my sentiment. How did I color my cat? Well, I used the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend, then “striped” my cat with the color lifter … tada! A tiger cat! The hat and brim was colored with the Basic Black and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends.
Here are the measurements:
- Card base (Pumpkin Pie): 4-1/4″ x 11′, scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ to form the easel element
- Mat Layer (Basic Black — 2 pieces 4-1/8″ x 2-5/8″, 1 piece 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ for the inside); 4″ x 5-1/4″ – largest Everyday Arches die cut
- DSP (starry sky pattern): 4″ x 2-1/2″ (top front); 4″ x 2-3/4″ (inside); 4″ x 5″ (for arch die cut)
- Inside (Basic White): 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
- Scrap Very Vanilla: to punch out 1-7/8″ moon
- Scrap Basic White: for (2) ghosts and the 2-1/8″ Stylish Shapes circle; scrap to stamp and die cut cat
- Scrap Basic Black: for tree, bat, and “BOO”
I should add that I added a little bit of Basic Gray color to the outside rim of the moon with a Blending Brush too. Any questions? Comment here or check out my video on YouTube.
I’ll be back tomorrow to share the other two cards, including what I figured out at card class that makes the cutting even easier!
