As a demonstrator, one of the perks is that you can preorder before the regular customer. Besides that, another perk is that Sale-a-bration, Stampin’ Up!’s annual fabulous sale, lasts for 3 months instead of 2! So, I’ve already been ordering and achieving!
As a perk for attending On Stage, Stampin’ Up!’s online convention in November, I was awarded a free stamp set called Planted Paradise. So, the challenge for this week was to use this stamp set with one of the Sale-a-bration items. No, it’s not available until Thursday, but my card class is Thursday and I won’t be live again until next week! Let the games begin!
Above is the beautiful paper, Softly Stippled. It has lovely patterns that coordinate with the new Stippled Roses bundle. The other side though, is lovely textured patterns! I’m choosing, at least for my first two cards, to concentrate on the solid colored textured patterns.
Next, as above, I chose to feature the Planted Paradise stamp set. There are several leaves, pots and hanging “strings” within this stamp set.
My team member, Shirley, mentioned though, that she had seen a snowman created with the circles and pots. I accepted the challenge and would not allow her to share the photo with me so that the card/snowman is my own!
Isn’t he just adorable? The body and head are the same stamp as the middle, but the reversible image of the middle stamp. In other words, I just flipped the stamp to the solid for the base and head, then flipped back over for the middle. I stamped off Smoky Slate for all 3 circles. Naturally I cleaned the stamp between, because otherwise, the flipping could get a little messy!
The nose was one of the leaf stamps, and I used blends (Poppy Parade and Pool Party) to add some color to my buddy’s Nordic sweater! His hat is a flower pot, and I think he’s wearing it with style! Oh yes, and the arm, stamped in Early Espresso, is also made with one of the leaf stamps. The beauty of the photopolymer stamps is that you can often bend them into a shape that you’d like!
You can see the detail of the stamp a bit better with the closeup view. I forgot to mention that I used a retired Stampin’ Up! journaling marker to hand-draw his mouth and turned-up grin! And the scarf?! That’s another Sale-a-bration item you can earn for free with your $50 order in a few days!
Finally, I mounted my Basic White layer, 3″ x 4-3/4″, to the Pool Party-textured pattern paper from the Softly Stippled. The DSP ius 4″ x 5-1/4″, mounted on a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Pool Party card base that I scored at 4-1/4″.
I guess this was not my original card, because the other thing I added to the original card, before my FB live, was the adhesive-backed Snowflakes that were an online exclusive item that debuted the same time as the Horse and Sleigh stamp set and DSP this past summer. I checked yesterday, and the snowflakes were still available!
Thanks for checking out my adorable snowman! Come back later this week for another sample card using this stamp set and set of papers!
