Welcome to my castle. You are in for a wonderful tour of fabulous projects made by a large variety of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, your “princesses”. The set that I have chosen to spotlight is “Inspired by Nature” (111656 – $23.95). I fell in love with this stamp set early on as there are so many things that you can do with this set.
I used it for my primary set for the first and second cards or you can use it, especially the grass as a background for the 3D project.
My first card uses the Chalkboard or Black Magic technique. I stamped on black cardstock with the white craft pad. I then used daubers and SU chalks to go over the stamped images and bring out the color. It was so easy and a very nice technique.
Ink: White craft ink
Paper: Razzleberry lemonade, Basic black cardstock, Melon Mambo cardstock
Accessories: Old Olive Satin ribbon, sponge daubers and SU chalks, jewlery tag punch, linen thread.
My next card and my favorite is was inspired by Brandi Whiggins-Cote. On her blog a few weeks ago, she gave a step-by-step tutorial of the “Emboss Resist” Technique.
Ink: Versamark, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Summer Sun markers
Papers: Pink Falmingo DSP, Not quite Nacy, Summer sun and close to cocoa
Accessories: Clear embossing powder and heat tool, Big Shot with Top Note die, Chocolate chip double sided ribbon, linen thread, Antique Brass jumbo eyelets set with Crop-a-dile. Large oval and scalloped oval punches.
Now, for my final project, I decided to make something 3 Dimensional. I purchased the template and instructions for this house a few months back from a fellow SU Demo. I used the “Little bit of Magic” stamp set that is debuting in the summer mini on May 1st to be the “inhabitants” of my fairy house. As I made the house I kept adding details with the encouragement of my fellow demos. What I haven’t shown in the picture is the house actually opens up and will be used to house several cards for a gift.
The house has a little door and mailbox, a white picket fence, a window box and an adorable chimney on top of a slate roof. I used the Inspired by Nature set to stamp the grass on all sides of the house.
I hope that you enjoyed your visit to my castle.
