I spent most of yesterday and today preparing for tonight’s Easter specialty card class. The fun thing about holidays are the 3D items that I can have people make for the class. I found that my projects were too involved at Christmas-time, so I scaled back a bit for Valentine’s Day and Easter this year. It’s more fun to complete a project and not get overwhelmed!!
The above photo is all of the projects we’ll be doing tonight. I love every single one of them!!
Below is a closeup of my elegant Easter card. It was case’d from Janet Wakeland and I love the beauty and elegance of it! An oval framelit showcases a very elegant Easter egg. The cutout is from the Bloomin’ Heart thinlit!! I love the gold foil shine!! The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set. I stamped it in Black ink. I did add dimensionals behind the top layer.
Here’s another view of it, along with a 2nd project. This mini treat bag was totally inspired by Erica Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo Stamps. Yes, I think she’s SO GOOD!! She has an eye for 3D and creativity and design that I love!! I don’t know that I changed a think … it’s THAT good!!
In case you couldn’t tell, the little bunny is from the adorable Friends and Flowers stamp set in the mini Occasions catalog. It uses the Festive Flower Builder Punch that was one of the weekly specials last week. Of course, you need Fringe Scissors with this class!! What’s a cute Easter project without Easter “grass”! The sentiment is also from a new stamp set that has not gotten a lot of use from me yet (gasp!!). It’s from the Greatest Greetings sentiment stamp set. The font is adorable and the phrases are so so cute!!
Next up, check out this adorable card featuring the new Easter Lamb single stamp, also from the Mini Occasions catalog. I separated out the sentiment from the image so that I can use if for a baby card as well!! The card is cased from Hélène den Breejen. I found the card on Pinterest but changed it up a bit. I embossed the top layer with the Gently Falling TIEF. I then cut out a circle using the #5 Circle Framelit (#1 is the smallest). I “pinked” up the little dude’s cheeks with Blushing Bride and a blender pen. The sky was sponged on with Lost Lagoon ink. I then colored some green grass with Wild Wasabi ink and a sponge dauber The banner is 1″ x 3″ that I stamped the “Happy Easter” sentiment onto in Lost Lagoon ink. I cut out the ends with the Hexagon Punch. A small knot of Pool Party Glitter Ribbon was a perfect touch (IMO!). Then, I got a small smudge on the upper right corner so I added a Pool Party flower from the Botanical Blooms framelit collection. Then I just added a pearl. Oh yes, the WW top layer was 3 3/4″ x 5″, over top of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Lost Lagoon DSP stack script paper.
That leads me to project #4!
This Easter basket was cut out of Soft Suede and used the Berry Basket Bigz die. You essentially need a full sheet of paper for each basket as you cut out two basket forms with the die. I searched and searched for a cut bunny, but all the punch bunnies looked too complicated, so I came up with my own! The head is 1 1/4″, the body is 1 3/4″ round. I cut out the ears using the Fun Flower punch. I didn’t realize that the petals of that punch were all different! The top petals when I punched out just two ears made one look a bit cock-eyed. I love that!! I sponged some Soft Suede ink around the edges and added a Honeycomb Embellishment accent to make a fun tail!!
When adding the bunny to the basket, he needed some grass. Then I felt like there needed to be more color, so I added some leftover colorful blooms from last week’s card class. I just mixed and matched!
Now, all that’s left to do is fill the fun 3D treats with some Easter candy!!
I hope you have a fabulous day!! Leave me a comment if you need any more information!! I’d love to hear what you think!!
