You know the old wedding addage … “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!”. Well, I adhered to all of those rules for today’s card.
Don’t you just love the colors? I especially love my favorite color, both ink and paper, Blueberry Bushel, retiring soon! I knew the day was coming, and mourned it’s passing already last year with the introduction of LAST year’s in colors!
I made this card for a friend’s grandmother whose husband passed as a result of this awful virus. I thought she would appreciate the vintage look of this card.
So, did you figure it out yet? The “old” is the Woven Threads DSP and the Colorful Seasons stamp set. The “new” is the Ornate Layers dies and the gorgeous gilded gold gems — this is available as a special deal to customers now and it will be in the new catalog coming next month. (Demonstrators could preorder the suite in March). The “borrowed” is a cased card from Susan Campfield — I ended up changing to the rectangle dies from the Ornate Garden suite instead of the Petal Labels dies that coordinate with the Path of Petals stamp set), and the “blue” is the staying Seaside Spray cardstock along with the retiring Blueberry Bushel color (I’m so sad!). What do you think?!
In this time of “social distancing”, make sure that you continue to stamp. Make your stamping intentional — reach out to friends that may have lost loved ones, send a card to a friend you haven’t seen for a while, brighten someone’s day with a card in the mail (and since it may not be a good idea to lick your envelope, seal it with a sponge or an aqua painter! )
