I made today’s card in my Facebook Live on 5/19/22. I recently saw a card online using the colors Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride. I loved the card but better yet, I loved the sketch! Do you ever look at a card and say … I wonder if THIS stamp set {insert stamp set name here!} would look good with this card?!
I made the card with that sketch using the Kite Delight stamp set, but then, because it was time for a Facebook Live, I decided that I should make another card but change up the colors.
Looking at the stamp set, I immediately saw a flag in one of the kites. Instantly, an idea was born! It’s almost Memorial Day here in the United States — a time when we honor our veterans and Armed Services men and women for the sacrifices they’ve made to make sure we have our freedom!
I used several different techniques here when making this card. First, I demonstrated the new masking paper from Stampin’ Up! I’ve always used post it notes, but now we have this fabulous new tool to make masking possible!
Next, I colored my stamp with the Stampin’ Markers. I used the Stamparatus so that, if I missed a spot (and I did!), I could re-ink and line up the stamp again! How fabulous is that?!
The sentiment is from Lovely You — many of our military men and women are overseas, protecting us. I wanted them to know (even though they may never see this card) that I appreciate ALL that they do for us!
The inside of my card uses a new stamp set, Happiness Abounds. This is primarily a floral set that is new in the 2022 Annual Catalog. The inside was another chance to use my Stampin’ Blends to color still another kite on the inside!
So, what do you think?! Want to check out the video? Check out the video below! (You can fast forward past my introduction!)
