More Sweet Citrus! | Stamping with Jeannie

I made more sweet citrus cards to share today! This was my in-person class about a week ago. This bright card is one of my favorites!

The paper is actually from the Glorious Gingham designer paper. This lovely paper is double-sided and comes in 5 great colors. I’m personally drawn to the bright colors especially in summer, but the Pecan Pie pattern is lovely too!

To start, I embossed a large square of Lemon Lolly cardstock with the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder, then used the coordinating die to diecut the grapefruit slices. I also diecut the flowers with another scrap of Lemon Lolly. The leaves were diecut from a Granny Apple Green cardstock scrap, then I added some more color with Garden Green ink and my blending brush.

Back to the citrus slices though — you can’t even tell that the cardstock is Lemon Lolly! I added color first with a Blending Brush and Crushed Curry ink, then went over it again, (a little goes a long way!) with Melon Mambo ink and a different Blending Brush. Finally, to make the slices both “pop” and look juicy, I added some Wink of Stella to the centers. You know me and my bling!

Let’s talk about the Blending Brushes very quickly. The brushes come in a package of three. I’m including a link for both the Large Blending Brushes and the Small Blending Brushes. There is a place for both sizes depending on your projects. I have separate brushes for my different colors. For example, I have a blue brush, a green brush, a brown brush, a yellow brush, etc. I don’t get specific with the different greens or yellows, and I probably used my red brush for the Melon Mambo ink. I don’t wash my brushes in between uses — I just wipe them with a microfiber cloth to remove most of the ink.

If you want to make my card, here are the measurements:

  • Basic White Thick cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
  • Lemon Lime Twist Glorious Ginham DSP: 2″ x 5″ (you’ll get 3 strips out of each 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP!)
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock: 3″ x 4″; scrap 2″ x 2″
  • Basic White cardstock: 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″
  • Lemon Lolly cardstock: 3″ x 3″ square, embossed with the Hybrid Embossing Folder, then diecut with die; scrap 2″ x 2″ diecut with the triple flower die.

Assemble the card using my photo above and the measurements. Oh yes, the sentiment is so fun and appropriate. I stamped it with Granny Apple Green ink.

I hope you enjoy this card! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! I love to read comments! It makes my day!
