Collect beautiful moments! Can’t you feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your shoulders?!
And, don’t you just love it when a plan comes together?! I just ordered the all-new Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends and got them in this week’s Stampin’ Up! order. I wanted to make a quick and simple card to highlight them! This is a new collection of 10 blends that Stampin’ Up! has released that features 10 different skin tones colors, making the card personal a beatiful! These blends were a preorder item for demonstrators in January and I kept forgetting to add them to my order. They’re available as a complete collection or in sets of 2 blends in several different tones.
This lovely card features the New Horizons 6×6 paper. See how easy this card was to make using this paper?! It took just a moment to stamp the image in Memento ink — the hard part was choosing which beautiful DSP pattern paper and which colors to use for the blends. So many options! In my mind, I pictured these girls walking hand in hand on the beach, excited to feel the sand between their toes. They’re going to build a sand castle, or collect hermit crabs, or … So many things to do on the beach!
The image and sentiment is from the Beautiful Moments stamp set (#151677). I wanted to use a stamp that I could color with the gorgeous Stampin’ Blends. Because of the neutral background of this paper, I was able to stamp directly onto my DSP and then color the image in.
My card is very simple and only 2 layers, plus the sentiment that I punched and layered.
Card base: Basic White Thick c/s, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Layer 1: New Horizons DSP, 3 3/4″ x 5″
Layer 2: Evening Evergreen c/s scrap, punched with the scallop oval using the Double Oval punch
Layer 3: sentiment from Beautiful Moments, stamped in Memento and punched out using the plain oval from the Double Oval Punch.
I’ll list the Stampin’ Blends colors here for you in case you’d like to make this card exactly:
- SU 200 for the girl on the left
- SU 900 for the little girl on the right
- Polished PInk light for the dress, girl on left
- Soft Seafoam dark for the dress, girl on right
- Night of Navy light for the pail on left
- Daffodil Delight dark for the pail on right
- Black light for the hair, girl on left (I also colored over the hair w/ the Daffodil Delight dark marker to add a few highlights)
- Daffodil Delight light for the hair, girl on right
I hope that you take the time to collect and share your beautiful moments too!
