“Would You Like to Build a Snowman?!”

This has been a week for stories!! First an adventure to get to Stampin’ Up!‘s Leadership Conference in Orlando through/around a blizzard, then more snow this week!! This is a picture of the front of our house from the road. Note the icicles? My daughter, Lyndsey, noticed that they’re only on one side of the street! Interesting!!

We received about 15+ inches of snow this week, Monday to Tuesday, and digging out was not so fun!! But, my husband, son, daughter and I all went out to find the end of the driveway in 11° temperatures and did our best! Our reward? Homemade hot chocolate and a movie, hence the title, “Would you like to build a snowman?” Yep, we finally watched Frozen! Loved the music and loved the theme!! Okay, let me share today’s card with you:

This idea was case’d from Ronda Wade — I actually made something similar to this for my Christmas cards. I forgot to take a picture, but the inside sentiment is “Best. Day. Ever.”, referring to the snowday that I got to spend at home with my kids on Monday!! They couldn’t drive anywhere because of the timing of the storm, so we (including my husband who chose to work out of the house) all spent the day inside, making the best of things!!

To make your card, start by embossing the Soft Sky c/s with the Northern Flurry embossing folder (TIEF). Once you’ve don that, use a variety of round and shaped punches — start from the bottom with the largest Circle punch (1 3/4″), and overlap/gradually work your way up. The hat is the 1″ square punch. Once you’ve punched the square out, you can add a brim by tilting your bird punch leaf stem just right. My advice to you is to make yourself a template once you’ve got your snowman shaped the way you want him! The buttons are the Basic Jewel Rhinestones — attach the Soft Sky layer to a Whisper White card base and attach the rhinestones to the Whisper White base.
