I wanted to design a fun class for my ladies using an adorable swap card I recently received through SSUS from Laura Lipe. Laura used the Floral District paper to make a fabulous pinwheel card that my ladies all ooohed and aaahed over! Well, one thing led to another and I decided that “Pennants and Pinwheels” was an extremely catchy and fun class title! So … I had no problem coming up with pinwheels (and I still have oodles of ideas!). The trouble was that I didn’t know what to do for the “pennant” part of the card class! Petite Pennant builder punch and the Pennant Parade stamp set to the rescue!

The card on the back right is Laura’s card — it used the Floral District DSP. The pinwheel squares are 2″ square — I made the mistake of case’ing it and figuring the size based on the measurement of the diagonal! Don’t do that! Way too big!!

On the left, you see some remnants of my Big Top DSP (retired, but you’ll see it again next week in my Pop Goes the 4th on the 2nd! card class) The sentiment uses the Curly Cute stamp set — this card was case’d from Stampin’ Connection — a cardmaker named “Donna” (sorry — no more info than that!). The stamp set is Sweets for the Sweet.

The simple card in the front is cased from the new catalog — it’s on page 44 with the featured Pennant Parade stamp set. I didn’t have the Made For You stamp set (that comes tomorrow — yay!!), so I used the fabulous Bring on the Cake stamp set for my sentiment. This card was made to fit the small open-end envelopes that I think must have retired.

(Maybe tomorrow I can measure one and figure out dimensions so that you can make your own envelopes with the score board!)

Did I mention that I love my class ladies?! One of them looked at this card and said that it was the perfect size to use as a gift card and insert some fun cashola into! Now why didn’t I think of that?! It just took a new cut and another score line to develop the card into just that … a fun cash enclosure gift card! The paper was 6 1/2″ square originally — scored at 3 1/4″ on one side. Instead, I cut my paper at 6 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, then scored it at 3 1/4″ and again at 6 1/2 ” — perfect to enclose the cash!

Well, that’s it for today! Time to prepare my room for Open Stamping tonight! Check out my calendar on my Stampin’ Up! web page if you’re interested in attending any one of my fun card classes and events!
