Good morning all! What a gorgeous day again, here in Boston Massachusetts! My grass is starting to green up now that we got about 4 inches of rain earlier in the week! Yay!! It has been such a long time!! I need to apologize that this post wasn’t up earlier — I made the card and took the pictures on time, but then sent the camera with my daughter Lyndsey who went to the Justin Bieber concert last night in Providence Rhode Island! Before she left for Volleyball tryouts again this morning at 7:30, I had to re-claim my camera and get this up to share with y’all!
The Color Challenge for my Blogger’s Challenge group this week was to make a card using red, yellow and green. I thought it would be easy! I was a little bit wrong!! I think “easy” would have been to make a card with all the primary colors: red, yellow, green … and blue! Anyhoo, here’s this week’s admission, with 2 takes on it. I’m going to ask your opinion, so pay attention!
I’d say that I’d tally up the comments and then send this card to my “bestest girl friend” from high school … but I’d be lying! I took card number 1 and added the sponging when it looked plain, so Nan’s getting the second card! Hope she likes it! Happy Birthday Nan! I’ll be over in 4 hours plus traffic with a box of Entenmann’s Chocolate Chip Cookies, just like the good ‘ole days!!
Stamps: Well Scripted
Paper: SU Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: I Wild Wasabi and Poppy Parade Classic Inks
Accessories: my Big Shot with the Daisies Flowers # 2 Bigz die, Little Leaves sizzlit, and Beautiful Wings embosslit.
Quick Tip:
1. How easy would it be to make this card for any occasion and any season. The rectangles are 1 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ with a mat of an additional 1/4″ . Just switch out the sentiment, switch out the color combo of your “squares”, and you’re good to go!
Thanks for looking!
Jeannie
I love both cards, but the distressing on the second one just adds a bit more edge to it. I love your thought of just changing it out for the seasons — great tip!
I like the distressing ink on the second card, but both are nice. Love the daisies and little added butterflies. 🙂
Love both versions…with and without the sponging! Lovely way to use panels to create a very pretty card!
These were well worth us waiting a day! The are both beautiful!
Great card- I do like the suble difference the sponging adds- but they are both great cards. TFS
This is a really nice card. The second version is nicer. The sponging adds a little more interest to the card without overwhelming it. I like how the colors play together on this too.
What a beautiful card, Jeanne…so gorgeous.
This is lovely Jeannie! Such a great design and yes…it would be wonderful for any occasion! 😀
Love the four sections! great card!
Lovely card (either way) but if I'm going to go with personal preference I like the sponging a little more.
Fab card–both versions–but I think I like the sponged one better.
WOW! What a gorgeous card!
I like clean edges so I'm going to go with the first one, but I think they are both great! I love how you created the 4 panels and put flowers in the 3 & your sentiment in the 4th.
Great cards, like them both!
Great design! Love the combination of all of the die cut elements.
Jeanne, you rocked the diecuts with this challenge…I love how this turned out…saving your idea.
